OIG posts September LEIE data October 9

OIG's October 9 LEIE page posts the September database, exclusion/reinstatement supplements, and profile corrections. The page distinguishes a complete replacement database from single-month increments and warns that profile corrections cannot verify an exclusion.

What happened

The download page shows an October 9 update for September 2026 files. OIG explains that filenames describe prior-month actions. The complete database contains exclusions in effect and removes reinstated persons; monthly supplements contain only that month's changes.

Replacement and supplementation are alternative maintenance strategies. OIG directs complete-database users not to apply supplements as well. Profile corrections record changes such as addresses, rather than verification. Because downloadable files omit Social Security numbers, OIG directs specific-person/entity verification to its online search.

Why it matters

OIG recommends the complete replacement database for accuracy. Organizations using it should not also apply monthly supplements. Incremental files are not the full database, and profile corrections do not themselves verify an exclusion. No case count or entity action is inferred here.
