Four sentenced in Annandale opioid prescription conspiracy
Oct 4, 2026 edition · GC-2026-0202 · Published 2026-10-04 · Version 2 · Final
Four participants received imposed sentences in an Annandale prescribing conspiracy involving false patient identities, paid prescriptions and multi-state pickups.

What happened
DOJ announced October 2, 2026 sentences for four participants in a controlled-substance conspiracy involving Annandale physician Rotimi Iluyomade. Yared Michael Tesfaye received 60 months, Elhadj Malick Diallo time served of approximately 13 months, Cameron Isaiah Lewis eight months and Raymono Alfonzo Russell II ten months. All four had previously pleaded guilty. These are imposed sentences reported for the named defendants, rather than statutory maximums or sentences for different people with similar names.
The court-document account describes lists of purported patients, variations of names and false addresses, prescriptions sent to pharmacies across multiple states and payment of $300 per fraudulent prescription by Lewis and Diallo. Tesfaye also sold access to appointment 'slots,' and other participants collected and distributed the drugs. An investigation began after Russell tried to collect a fraudulent prescription and authorities found bottles bearing multiple patient names from the same prescriber. The mechanism connects prescribing, patient identities, payment and pickup patterns. It should not be reduced to the presence of cash alone or used to assume that every telehealth or out-of-state prescription is illegitimate.
