Pharmacy-robbery crew co-leader receives 140 months in prison

Ashley Gause received 140 months in prison after a conviction involving pharmacy robberies and distribution of stolen controlled substances. The crew also targeted cellphone stores. The reported $300,000 covers mixed proceeds and prescription drugs, rather than a separately quantified drug loss or restitution order.

What happened

Ashley Gause was sentenced October 13 to 140 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release. A jury had convicted her October 28, 2025 of robbery conspiracy, controlled-substance distribution conspiracy arising from pharmacy robberies, and eight individual robbery counts. The new event is her sentence, not the earlier conviction. DOJ's reference to $300,000 combines proceeds and prescription drugs from the crew's activities; it is not identified as a drug-only valuation or restitution judgment.

From May 2020 through May 2021, the crew targeted pharmacies and cellphone stores in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey to obtain prescription drugs and phones for resale. Multiple incidents involved firearms pointed at victims. The explicit theft and subsequent distribution of pharmacy controlled substances supply the healthcare nexus. The release reports criminal conduct against pharmacy employees and businesses, rather than dispensing violations by the victim pharmacies.
