Noridian posts MolDX billing-article revisions for October 1
Oct 4, 2026 edition · GC-2026-0134 · Published 2026-10-04 · Version 2 · Final
Noridian’s September 24 MolDX revisions apply several October 1 diagnosis changes while preserving other revision-specific dates.

What happened
Noridian posted five relevant JE MolDX article revisions on September 24. The notices cover myeloid next-generation sequencing A57891 R14, hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis A59872 R3, heritable thoracic aortic disease A59868 R3, cardiovascular-risk biomarkers A57037 R9 and metabolic steatotic liver disease/steatohepatitis biomarkers A60217 R1. Their October 1 changes include diagnosis-code additions or replacements, such as M04.3 for the myeloid article, Q87.A for the aortic article and K74.0A for the liver article. As of October 4, those October 1 portions are effective and should be checked against actual services and diagnosis documentation.
The notices do not give every change the same start date. The myeloid notice also adds genomic sequencing code entries and a warning that inclusion does not imply coverage, with that portion effective May 17, 2020. The amyloidosis notice includes cardiomyopathy code additions effective September 25, 2025 alongside October 2026 replacements and registry wording. A57891’s actual article directs use of the applicable code, unit and DEX identifier and points to the coverage policy and evaluated-test registry. Article maintenance therefore requires version-specific comparison rather than assuming every listed code creates coverage or a new October-only benefit.

Why it matters
Laboratory edits must apply the correct revision and effective date while preserving the distinction between coding inclusion, evaluated tests and clinical coverage.
Recommended action
Verify the five applicable revisions in production, compare diagnosis and DEX documentation with ordered tests, and investigate October claims using each change’s actual effective date.
