DEA denies JT Medical’s cannabis-manufacturing registration application
Oct 11, 2026 edition · GC-2026-0186 · Published 2026-10-11 · Version 4 · Final
DEA denied JT Medical’s pending bulk-manufacturing application after finding no bona fide supply agreement and inadequate secured storage. This is an application denial, rather than revocation of an operating practitioner’s registration. The order preserves a possible separate future application route where applicable.
What happened
DEA’s September 29 notice publishes a final order denying JT Medical, LLC’s pending manufacturing application, control number W17047690E. The Lewistown, Pennsylvania applicant had sought registration in May 2017 to bulk-manufacture the schedule I substances identified in its application: marihuana, marihuana extract and tetrahydrocannabinol. After an administrative default, DEA deemed the allegations admitted and found that the applicant could not provide a bona fide supply agreement and lacked a substantially secured cabinet to store marihuana. Those supply and physical-security findings drove the denial.
Signed September 8, the order is effective October 29, 2026, and also denies other pending applications to amend or modify that application or obtain additional Pennsylvania registration. It concerns an application, not revocation of an existing practitioner registration. A footnote expressly preserves the ability to apply through the separate framework for registrations based on state medical-marijuana licenses, if applicable. The decision should therefore not be described as a permanent bar on every future application or as general advice on cannabis scheduling. For manufacturing counterparties, application status, supply arrangements and physical controls each require specific verification.
