Noridian opens three proposed MolDX policies for comments through October 11

Three proposed MolDX LCDs remain open for comment through October 11, covering renal-carcinoma biomarkers and hematologic molecular testing.

What happened

Noridian's August 31, 2026 Jurisdiction E notice identifies three proposed LCDs with an August 27–October 11 comment period. DL40435 concerns transcriptional biomarkers for therapeutic decision-making in renal carcinoma. DL40427 concerns next-generation sequencing for hematologic malignancies and suspected malignancies. DL40411 concerns genome-wide molecular testing for copy-number alterations and structural variants in hematologic neoplasms. The notice identifies Part B contractor jurisdictions covering northern and southern California, Hawaii/Pacific territories and Nevada. As of October 4, the comment period remained open.

The announcement links the proposals through the Medicare Coverage Database and directs commenters to identify the specific policy in each submission. Each proposal addresses a different testing question, so a laboratory's test-menu comparison and supporting evidence should be tied to the appropriate LCD. Publication for review does not make the proposed coverage criteria final or implement a current billing change. Each proposal retains its own procedural status and comment dates; shared subject matter alone does not establish that proposed criteria are final or effective.

Why it matters

Laboratories and ordering services can assess the proposed criteria while the comment opportunity remains open, without prematurely applying them as final policy.
