California extends skilled nursing consolidated financial reporting deadline to eight months
Oct 11, 2026 edition · GC-2026-0215 · Published 2026-10-11 · Version 3 · Effective
HCAI's approved skilled nursing reporting amendment gives eight months after fiscal year-end for the annual consolidated financial report. OAL approved and filed it August 12, with October 1 effectiveness, so it is an existing implementation change for the October 11 edition.
What happened
The approved amendment to 22 CCR 97046.4(a) replaces four with eight months after a skilled nursing facility's fiscal year-end for its annual consolidated financial report. The retained approval package includes the marked amended clause, OAL's August 12 approval, and the Secretary of State's August 12 filing stamp. Both the approval notice and HCAI's regulation index identify October 1, 2026 effectiveness. The amendment changes the fiscal-year-based submission interval; it does not repeal the annual report or create a single statewide calendar-date filing deadline.

Why it matters
A changed submission deadline needs to be reflected in entity reporting calendars; it does not eliminate the report.
Recommended action
Update the SNF consolidated-report calendar and confirm the fiscal year-end and reporting entity with Finance. Keep other HCAI filing deadlines separate.
